History

Although the Royal Navy was among the most powerful globally, they recognised the need for a fleet of swift combat ships to confront enemy warships and significantly impact enemy merchant shipping. Relying on stealth, speed, and agility, the Vosper company had been crafting such vessels since the early 1930s, with the Vosper 73ft Motor Torpedo Boat being a more advanced version of these earlier designs.

Equipped with three Packard engines, the Vosper could exceed speeds of 40 knots. This variant was armed with four 18-inch deck-mounted torpedo tubes, an Oerlikon 20mm cannon, and up to four Vickers machine guns. These boats were crucial during World War II, combining formidable firepower with remarkable speed and manoeuvrability to attack enemy ships and coastal installations.
